Christian Union Teams

Here are some of the teams that you can get involved in the Christian Union. We’d love for you to be on a team!

Worship Team

In the Bible, David sings and dances and praises God for what He has done for us and all He will do. I think we can worship God in every area of our life but if you would like to serve with music, join the CU Worship Team! The Worship Team takes part in the weekly Unite meeting that the CU runs, along with other exciting events. Praising the Lord brings people together and encourages and equips us to evangelize and bring people to hear the good news of Jesus!

Sound/Tech Team

The sound team is responsible for transporting, setting up and operating any equipment that is needed to run Christian Union events from weekly Unite meetings to less regular events like prayer and praise night and events week.

Set-up Team

As a set up team, we are responsible for ensuring everything is ready for Unite and tidied away at the end. We also help set up at other Christian Union events including outreach events and prayer and praise evenings too.

Publicity Team

The publicity team is responsible for all the designing aspects for the Christian Union. Anywhere from posters, banners, flags and social media related content.

Welcome Team

The CU loves to welcome everybody and anybody on campus to CU events, to give everyone the chance to hear the Gospel and be part of a warm and supportive community. The welcome team aims to make this possible and ensure everybody feels welcome and able to get involved with the CU. Being part of the welcome team means you will be there to welcome, chat and involve people at our CU events, and make God’s love known across campus.

Catering Team

As the catering team, we organise, prepare and serve food for all different types of events, from BBQs to quiz nights and lunch bars. We don’t have any weekly responsibility, but there are lots of different ways to help out during Freshers’ Week, Events Week and at monthly outreach events. So, whether you like to cook and bake or just love serving Jesus, we’d love you to get involved! Joining a team is a great way to meet new people and serve our campus. We are the best team because we have food! Looking forward to seeing you in September!

Other Ways to Get Involved

Here are some of the things that you could come along to get to know the Christian Union better too!

South East Big Weekend Away

The South East Big Weekend Away (SEBWA) is an event run by UCCF every year where we can go away as a CU for a whole weekend of fun and learning about Jesus. It normally happens around the end of October, or beginning of November, and is an amazing time to get to know fellow CU members much better, as well as meeting new people from other CUs in the South East. Although it can be daunting to go away for a whole weekend (especially if you’re a fresher who hasn’t been at university very long) this time together is super encouraging and can lead to you learning new things about Jesus and yourself that will stick with you for a really long time!

Word Alive

Word Alive is an annual Christian conference and fun-packed holiday in one. Each day involves morning and evening meetings, seminars, sports, games, entertainment and spending time together as a CU – you can even run into the cold, Welsh sea if you fancy it! This is a great way to strengthen friendships, make memories, and most importantly, be fed spiritually in Jesus. We’d encourage you to take this opportunity to grow in your relationship with our Saviour and be motivated to carry out His mission! Details about how you can sign up will be released throughout the year.
